Sourcemap’s Growth Through Specialized, Senior Tech Talent
Sourcemap, a leader in supply chain regulatory software, sought a partner to meet its urgent need for augmentation. Scaling rapidly, the company partnered with Terminal to fill key roles with senior tech talent who would become long-term team members and grow with the Sourcemap.

Sourcemap was growing faster than it could manage with its existing team and needed talent fast. Its challenges centered around three main areas: capacity, quality, and cost/risk management, which led to a bottleneck in their ability to execute on their current roadmap.
According to Sourcemap, traditional hiring was slow, risky, and costly. It could take three months to find a qualified engineer in the US, and the company had dealt with hiring poor fits in the past—leading them to go through the same time-consuming process all over again.
Sourcemap turned to Terminal for its nearshore alignment, specialized and integrated talent, and senior expertise: engineers with years of solid experience who didn’t need hand-holding. Terminal was up to the challenge, helping Sourcemap scale quickly and effectively.
ENGAGEMENT SUCCESS
Terminal worked with Terminal to fill specific technical gaps, including backend engineers familiar with their existing microservice and event-driven architecture and data expertise in areas like Tableau, data pipelines, and PySpark. Terminal quickly found qualified nearshore talent, filling the position for a backend engineer within just 14 days of posting the role.
Sourcemap saw quick success with four initial backend engineers, and then another two as the team expanded, as well as a data engineer. The company hired a total of seven engineers from Canada and Latin America in under 100 days, expanding the team by 33%.
