About Arcadia

We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join Arcadia's Applied AI team — a small, delivery-focused group within R&D that ships the machine learning and AI systems powering Arcadia's utility data platform. This is a hands-on role standing up new ML / AI capabilities across our core workstreams: utility bill data extraction, forecasting, and audit/anomaly detection. You'll work closely with engineering partners and the Director of Applied AI, with the experience to own ambiguous problems end to end, set the technical approach where none exists yet, and help shape how the team sequences its work.

About The Role

•Own delivery of one or more core workstreams — bill data extraction, forecasting, or audit/anomaly detection — and flex across them with your manager as priorities shift.
•Build, evaluate, and improve production models: document classifiers and extraction agents, forecasting models for bill availability and spend, and detection and tuning for audits and controls.
•Set the technical approach on problems where the right method isn't established — investigate, decide, and carry the recommendation through to a shipped result.
•Partner with the Director on prioritization and sequencing across workstreams, bringing a point of view on where the team should invest rather than only the capacity to execute.
•Write production-grade Python and contribute to the shared codebase, pipelines, and design docs — this is a live production system, not a notebook sandbox.
•Partner with engineering on model integration, monitoring, and post-deployment behavior – as the authority on the modeling approach and the team's resource for applying AI in production.
•Automate manual steps in your own and the team's workflow with AI tooling, and share the techniques that raise throughput.


What You’ll Do

•Substantial hands-on experience building and evaluating production ML models, with the judgment to make progress on ambiguous problems independently. The right person will need at least 3 years of experience working in ML models. 
•Strong ML fundamentals — statistics, classification, regression, and evaluation methodology.
•Fluency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy) and SQL, and comfort working in a live production codebase not just notebooks.
•Practical experience with LLMs or agentic workflows in production.
•Comfort with imperfect ground truth and managing inherent uncertainty in data.
•A track record of driving work with minimal oversight: forming and documenting assumptions, making the call on approach, and standing behind a recommendation.
•Clear communication that adapts to the audience: able to explain model behavior to engineers and non-technical partners and make the case for a decision.
•Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Statistics, Math, or a related field (or equivalent experience), plus a portfolio of past work — GitHub, papers, or project write-ups.

•A pure research role, an NLP/LLM research specialist, or a data analytics/BI role.
•Someone whose experience is mainly dashboarding, reporting, or model-free data work.

About Hippo Insurance

You'll implement backends and their interactions with various data stores and other APIs (including 3rd party APIs).
You'll work in an agile environment focusing on projects that are impactful on our business.

The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Payments team, you will own the software that moves real money for Order.co's customers — virtual-card issuance and authorization, bank connections, accounting integrations, recurring and consolidated invoicing, and ACH / RTP rails. You'll deliver complex features reliably, own subsystems end-to-end from initial design through rollout and post-release fixes, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers along the way. You'll be a credible technical voice in design discussions, challenge weak assumptions early, and help the team build software that is correct, maintainable, and secure — qualities that matter especially in code paths where a bug shows up on a customer's bank statement. Along the way, you'll grow your architectural judgment in money-movement systems and predictably ship work that moves the business forward.

Technical Execution & Code Ownership
Independently design and implement complex, multi-part features from requirements to production
Own subsystems, services, or critical components in the payments stack — for example, the internal financial ledger, the virtual-cards issuance and authorization lifecycle, bank connections, or the invoicing and auto-debit pipeline. The team routes questions to you for these areas

We are looking for a Senior Systems Architect and Full-Stack Engineer to serve as our primary technical driver. This is a high-velocity, "team of one" role where you will leverage modern AI-assisted development toolchains (e.g., Cursor, Claude, v0, Lovable) to handle rapid front-end generation and boilerplate development, freeing your focus to design, integrate, and protect core financial systems.
The immediate phase is a greenfield development sprint focused on complex API and Model Context Protocol (MCP) orchestrations with multiple banking, lending, and payment infrastructure partners. A secondary phase down the line will involve reverse-engineering legacy system components.


•Financial Infrastructure Design: Architect and implement secure, fault-tolerant backend architectures capable of managing complex ledger states, multi-party transactional flows, and robust error recoveries.

•Deep FinTech Integrations: Connect and orchestrate foundational embedded finance infrastructure, explicitly utilizing:

THE JOB
VEG is building technology that helps hospital teams deliver exceptional emergency care for pets and their people. As VEG continues to grow, our internal products need to scale with the speed, reliability, and care our hospitals depend on every day. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform & Infrastructure team, you will build and improve backend systems that support critical hospital and internal workflows. Your first focus will be
DogByte, a key product used across the business, while also contributing to new products as VEG expands. This role is for someone who enjoys building stable, maintainable systems with real operational impact. You will take product context, technical requirements, and ambiguity, then turn them into thoughtful solutions that are reliable today and ready for future growth.


• Build and improve backend systems that support DogByte and other internal products as VEG continues to grow
• Own projects from problem framing through production release, including technical design, sequencing, testing, rollout, and follow-through
• Partner with Product to understand how hospital and internal teams use our systems, then translate that context into practical backend decisions which work now and will continue to scale through hospital expansion
• Collaborate with our SRE and DevSecOps teams to support safe, repeatable releases and healthy production systems
• Use AI tools thoughtfully across code generation, review, testing, documentation, and problem-solving while maintaining strong judgment for quality and risk.
• Review work across teams and provide technical feedback that improves quality, consistency, and long-term product stability

• Product judgment, including the ability to understand user workflows and make technical decisions based on how systems are used in the real world
• Strong backend ownership, with the ability to guide work from ambiguous problem to production-ready solution
• A proactive approach to reliability, maintainability, and scalability
• Experience building or configuring AI-enabled skills, tooling, workflows, or agents that improve your own development workflow and contribute to better team development practices
• You have direct experience with technologies relevant to our technical stack, which currently includes: Python, PostgreSQL, AWS
• 5+ years in engineering environments where developers own code through release, including CI/CD and production quality
